Careers at Weaver Vale Housing Trust
We are an exciting place to work with opportunities across all departments. Formed in July 2002, operating in Cheshire and Warrington, we own more than 6,500 homes, plus garages, shops, community play areas, and green open spaces. The homes are spread across a large area of Cheshire and Warrington. We are committed to doing all we can to improve people’s quality of life and have a clear vision for our future, which places people at the heart of all we do by investing in our colleagues, customers, assets, services, neighbourhoods, and communities.
The Trust is also committed to building new homes by as we strive to deliver much-needed affordable new homes in Cheshire and Warrington. All new homes are built to high standards of energy efficiency, with many including the latest technology to help lower customer energy bills and reduce the impact on the environment.
Our Support Teams deliver a range of services focused on supporting customers to thrive in their communities. In 2022/23 our Money Matters Team delivered more than £4Million in Income Gains for our customers. These figures represent a 25% increase in support provided, compared to the previous financial year (2021-2022). The Money Matters Team’s specialist advisers provide practical support and guidance for customers who are having trouble making ends meet, experiencing difficulties with benefits, or falling behind on rent.
As a landlord we are determined to not just build back better, but crucially build back fairer in order to address the growing inequalities that impact our customers and communities daily.
We are proud to announce that we’ve been awarded a C1 grading from the Regulator of Social Housing. We are one of the first landlords in England to earn a C1 grading, which was introduced in April this year. The new C grading is focused on ensuring customers are safe in their homes, treated with fairness and respect and able to influence the quality of services.
We have also retained the highest grades for both Viability - V1 and Governance - G1. The three gradings cover:
- How well our governance arrangements enable the Trust to effectively manage risks, adequately control the organisation and ensure it continues to meet its objectives (G grading)
- Our financial viability and whether we are in a good financial position to deliver our business and corporate plans (V grading)
- A brand-new consumer grading (from April 24) focused on ensuring tenants are safe in their homes, treated with fairness and respect, plus able to influence the quality of services received (C grading)
Whilst we are delighted with this news, we continue to shape our plans for the Trust, and we know there’s still work to do. We want to continue to improve our services and make a positive difference to customers and communities. It is customer voices that matter most, and we must and will keep listening.
We have a friendly culture with a flexible, hybrid working model* and proactive learning and development for all colleagues. You'll also get;

- Free Employee Assistance Scheme to all of our colleagues and their immediate family, along with our own mental health first aiders.
