We've raised £6,309 for St Luke's Hospice

We did it! After another busy year of bake-offs, bingo, walking challenges and much, much more, we are proud to share that we have smashed this year's fundraising target for St Luke's Cheshire Hospice with a final amount of £6,309.

From the beginning of our partnership with St Luke's Cheshire Hospice back in April 2023, through the support of our staff we have bypassed our initial target of £5000. The final amount raised includes matched funds donated by the trust, who each year match pound for pound our fundraising efforts.

The work of our dedicated GSB (Giving Something Back) group continues to bring us together to help charities that provide life-changing support across our communities, making fundraising fun for all of us across the trust.

Marking the end of our partnership with St Luke's, our GSB Lead, Lynette Woodbine shared: "What has shone through this year is just how generous we all are with our time and with our donations. The money we have raised this year will help the hospice provide much needed care and support to their patients and family members. I would just like to thank everyone, and I hope you are all proud of what we have achieved. We are all busy but every now and then we need to just give ourselves permission to have a little bit of fun and catch up with our colleagues and hopefully the events we organise do just that. I hope you all enjoy participating in them just as much as we do organising them."

Passing on their thanks, St, Luke's shared the below message with us...

"From all of us at St Luke’s, thank you so much to everyone at Weaver Vale Housing Trust for supporting the Hospice over the past 12 months. Fundraising is never easy, there are so many great causes out there and almost everyone is struggling financially, so to raise the funds you have is a tremendous success, well done! It has been great seeing your creative approach to fundraising, which we often find is the key to building engagement and generating interest, so thank you for investing time and thought in to this. And finally, very few businesses and organisations offer to ‘match fund’ what staff raise, so the decision from Weaver Vale Housing Trust to do this is really kind and shows support for the employees, and of course the Hospice. Good luck with supporting your next ‘Charity of the Year' and of course you are more than welcome to pop in to St Luke’s at any time to see the difference you have helped to make."
